Season 2008 / 2009

The Liquid Force QLD Wakeboard Tour,

supported by O'Brien and ML Boarding

We’re going to kick off this season with a come-and-try day at Bli Bli cable park.

The guys at Bli Bli cable have generously given us the use of the park for a couple of hours before it opens to the public on Sunday the 7th of September. This is going to be a great opportunity for QWA members to come along and get some coaching on riding sliders.

This will also be a great chance to get together before the season’s first competition on the 21st of September at Lake Kurwongbah. The park will open for us at around 8AM and entry will be free to current QWA members, and don’t worry, you can sign up on the day so you will be ready to compete this season. When the park opens to the public, you can stay and ride for as long as you like.

Mastercraft boats will also be holding a demo day on the Mooroochy River, so when you’ve had enough of sliding and you want to try the new tricks you’ve learnt behind the boat, head down to the river and good luck.

This is going to be a fun-packed day, so don’t miss out!

Round 1: 21st September at Lake Kurwongbah
Round 2: 12th October at Bundaberg (Sandy Hook Ski Club)
Round 3: 2nd November at Lake Joyda
Round 4: 30th November at Nudgee Creek
Round 5: 18th Janurary at T.B.A.

Please note that there will be no comps held at Carrara due to the venue being closed until the Council carry out bank stabilisation work.

QLD State Titles

This year we plan to head up to Townsville at the site of the "Ross River Rampage". Now that we have the NQWA riders to take into consideration, this will be an exciting venue for all of those who attend.

This season we are going to try a new format with the comps. Juniors and Amateurs divisions will be run back-to-back, followed by presentations, so this will allow parents and families with other commitments to be able to leave early if they wish.
