QWA AGM UPDATE
A Committee meeting was held on Tuesday the 23rd of June at 7.30PM in the Sport's House at Suncorp Stadium. We had a great turn out for the meeting and some exciting changes are comming this season.
A new committee has been elected with Jason as president once again.
A new comp format will be introduced this season. This format is designed to increase competition, encourage new riders to the sport reguardless of thier riding level, and most of all to make comps fun! There will also be a reduction in entry fees to make it more affordable.
The new classes will be. 1 Open pro - Unlimited tricks. 2 Semi pro (max 5 mobes or spins upto 720 rotation) 3 Advanced (max 3 mobes or spins over 540). 4 Semi advanced (max 8 inverts, spins, raleys). 5 Intermediate (max 3 spins, inverts). 6 Straight air (no inverts, spins past 180, raleys). 7 Novice (no wake to wake). These divisions will only apply to our local comp. State titles etc will run the standard age classes.
DATES for comps are as follows. 10/10/09 Somerset social come and ride day. 11/10/09 round 1. comp at Somerset. Round 2. 8/11/09 Gold Coast venue TBA. Round 3. 6/12/09 Lake Kurwongbah. Round 4. 16/1/10-17/1/10 Bundy weekend at Sandy Hook. Round 5. 14/2/10 Lake Moogerah. 20-21 March 2010 State Titles. Gold Coast Marine Stadium or Lake Kurwongbah.

END OF SEASON
The 2008/2009 season has, unfortunately, come to an end. We cannot express how thankful we are to the riders, committee members and their families for their ongoing invaluable help and support. Thank you for supporting and participating in the sport that we all share a passion for.
Thanks to all who attended the QWA awards night at Somerset Dam, we hope everyone had a great time! Take care in the off-season, good luck to the riders travelling overseas and we wish a speedy recovery for all our injured riders. We hope to see you all back strong and healthy next season!
Thanks once again,
Queensland Wakeboard Association
